Early summer is when leaves are budded on the trees indicating the ground is warming up. It is different for each time zone. Most perennials are planted in early fall, ie early to late September. They are all quite low maintenance.

I`m sorry I missed this CS
An example of late spring here in MI is when the snow leaves the ground, March or early April.. Early summer is when leaves are budded on the trees indicating the ground is warming up. It is different for each time zone.
Most perennials are planted in early fall, ie early to late September. Some ( plant tag should say)can be planted in fall or spring.
